Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Yarmouth

Spring always arrives a little early on Cape Cod when the annual Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Parade returns to Yarmouth! This annual event heralds the start of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, as locals and visitors shake off their winters blues and put on their best kelly green to watch the parade and enjoy the weekend’s activities.

This year’s Grand Marshall will be Cape Cod native, and everyone’s favorite meteorologist, Tim Kelley. Tim will join the parade on Saturday, and be the Master of Ceremonies for the awards dinner on Friday night at the Riverway Lobster House. In addition to the presentation of the Colleen Scholarships and awards announcements, this year’s dinner will feature entertainment by Dave Hickey, the Kanaley School Irish Dancers, plus hors d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner and dancing.  Tickets can be purchased here.

The St. Patrick’s Day celebrations don’t end when the parade is over. You’re sure to find traditional Irish-American fare and libations at restaurants all around town. There are so many different ways to celebrate the food, mood, music and culture of Ireland, and it’s all happening right here in the heart of Cape Cod. With a number of Yarmouth’s local businesses contributing to the celebration of Irish Heritage, you can enjoy the culture of Emerald Isle all year long. Here’s what’s going on this month.
